Welcome to RCCG City of God (Dominion Center)

City of God (Dominion Center) Barrhaven, is a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Canada.

We are kingdom purpose-driven, creating an environment where individuals encounter God’s presence for quality transformation and Christian growth. We are focused on providing discipleship and fellowship to individuals and families; committed to presenting and modelling Christ to our community and world. Therefore, whether you’re single, married, raising children, or exploring faith for the first time, we are happy to support you on your spiritual journey. Together, we extend the frontiers of the kingdom by God’s power, while demonstrating the multi-faceted wisdom, grace and dimensions of God. (Acts 1:8, Eph. 3:10)

Our Story

This work started as a persistent nudge in the hearts of the parish pastors, Emeka and Sandra Iroakazi. They have pastored for several years in Africa and the United Kingdom. Moving to Canada, Pastor Emeka decided to pursue his engineering profession, focusing on licensed engineering consulting practice and decided not to seek developing a new pastoral work, but to serve with a local parish.

However, while his family worshiped at a local parish in Ottawa, the Lord continued to prod him regarding the dominion mandate. This entails thorough disciplining and raising of godly champions, kingdom-minded systemic influencers, pacesetters and changemakers who will visibly impact their different spheres of life with lasting results without compromise and to the Glory of God. City of God is God’s designated crucible.

In March 2020, he could no longer bear the persistent nudge as specific instructions were dropped into his heart by the Lord. Thus, he yielded to this phase of labouring in God’s kingdom. Having made this decision, pastors Emeka & Sandra continued in prayer till August 2020, when the parish started bi-weekly virtual home fellowship meetings, starting with the pastor and his family.

The first in-person service was held on November 1, 2020. Thus, City of God (Dominion Center), Barrhaven had its first service at the Walter Baker Sports Center, Barrhaven. On November 11 2021, the parish was formally inaugurated as a standing parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Canada.

The overall vision of the RCCG mission is to raise a people who will ultimately make heaven through holy living.

In line with the overall vision, the unique vision of the City of God (Dominion Center) parish is to disciple and raise godly champions, kingdom minded systemic influencers, pacesetters and changemakers who will visibly impact their different spheres of life for lasting results through God’s dominion mandate. It is God’s designated crucible.
